I’m not a competitive shooter. I needed to have my hunting rifle (.308) muzzle threaded so I could use my suppressor. Ray gave me an accurate quote – both regarding the cost and the time – and threaded it perfectly.
“Just a thank you and to let you know that I have just won our National F class championships at Bisley in the UK using one of your low boy stocks. The competition was held at our NRA shooting ground Bisley where the World F class championships were held in 2009.
The competition is called our Imperial meet and it is in its 142 year! The competition was held over 11 competitions of 2 sighters and 15 to count over ranges from 300 to 1000 yards. Please find attached some photographs and the result sheet on pdf. I’m over the moon with your stock it tracked perfectly which aided me to getting the winning aggregate. Thanks again and if you would like to use this as a testimony to your fine stocks I would be delighted. All the best.” –David Lloyd
I was planning on e-mailing you this week to let you know that I used the awesome rifle you built me to win the TN State F-Class Long-Range Championship this past weekend. This is the second year in a row for me. The conditions were pretty tricky, but I ended up with a 964-20x. My .284 Win. edged out a 7mm RSAUM by only 3 points so I was the overall match winner as well. We had about 20 people in F-Open and 20 people in F-T/R. Steve Wells was 3rd overall with the .284 barreled action you put together for him. Next up is the Oak Ridge regionals (5/14-5/15).
I am attaching a couple of photos of the rifle in action and the overall match results. I think you will note that you had a part in all of the Top 3 F-Open rifles. Danny Biggs shot (and won) the F-T/R division. Needless to say, I am very pleased with everything you put together for me. I always speak highly of you whenever anyone asks who built my rifle for me.” -Jim Sokolowski
Finally got a chance to get to the range and give the new 284 barrel a run. I was lust doing a little break in and some base load testing. Was able to get a couple of 5 shot groups later in the day in a .512 inch group at 200yds. This thing will flat out shoot – like you said! Does like the node you provided & likes the Berger 175 and 180s, got some Sierra 175 and new 180 to chrono and test next week. The break-in, bore cleaning technique and chemicals you recommended work great. Let you know how it works out for me during this years competitions. By the way Jim’s rifle is beautiful and it shoots as good as it looks! Thanks so much! Best regards New & very happy customer” –Steve Wells
“Hey Ray, I am writing to thank you for my Savage re-barrel. It is the best! You raised my score by 10 points. Have not lost in total aggregate score since I got the rifle back (4 days, 4 wins). Thanks again.” -Kenny Adams, Florida
“I just wanted to let you know that my rifle is finished. What a stock! It tracks really well and I won my first National F-Class Match. I have attached some pictures. Thanks again for selling me a great stock.” -Grant Taylor, Scotland
Recently Grant Taylor has won a bronze medal at the NRA 140th Imperial Meeting July 2009 Total Entry: 145 World F-Class Championship
World F Class Individual Championships
“I have been working up an accurate load for my Montana Rifle – and having a blast! I have never had a rifle so sweet to shoot. Thought you should know how extremely happy I am with your work. Keep it up!” -C. Williams MD, Utah
“What a pleasure to read the enclosed article in the Sunday issue of the Burlington Times News. Eddie Smith and I enjoyed meeting Charles Ballard when we visited your shop a couple of months ago. Obviously, he is a terribly skilled marksman, using a most precise rifle built by you, my friend. Congratulations. I am taking the liberty of sharing this article with a few hunting friends. Eddie and I really enjoy the rifles you built for us. Very best!” –Nat Harris
“Thanks for the rapid turn around time! It’s a pleasure to talk with you. You exhibit a level of attention to detail and professionalism sorely lacking in today’s world. After receiving the gun, I will contact you to give a heads up on performance. May God protect you and our country in these uncertain times.” –Cliff Mercier
I Just thought I would let you know how much I appreciate the quality of craftsmanship that went into the rifle you built for me. I must say that the rifle is very pleasing to the eye, although more importantly the performance has been impressive.
Within the first five rounds fired it produced a three shot group measuring .372” and has continued to improve with load development. Best group to date is three shots measuring .116 using new Lapua brass, H. Varget, 155gn Lapua Scenar and CCI BR primers.
Once again the quality is second to none, and the capabilities of this rifle leave no doubt that it’s the drivers fault if a shot goes astray.” -Andrew K. Scott
This target was shot by Leonard Hartle of Virginia with our custom rifles. Our C-4 stock, Remington Action and Brux 26″ 1×11 twist SS barrel. Center to center on this 140 yard group is .287. Not too bad.
